BCBSRI’s Supervisory Protocol has been expanded to include Physician Assistants. Effective 7/1/2024, Physician Assistants who are working towards a specialization in behavioral health will be able to render services under the supervision of either a Physician Assistant – Behavioral health (PA-BH) or a licensed psychiatrist practicing within a behavioral health setting.
