Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, BCBSRI has extended all clinical authorization approvals by Prime Therapeutics as stated below:

Commercial

• Existing clinical prior authorizations for pharmacy drugs with an original expiration date between March 31, 2020 and June 30, 2020 have been extended 90 days from the original expiration date to reduce provider and member burden. Restrictions may apply.
• Early refill restrictions are lifted through June 30, 2020. Restrictions may apply.

Medicare

• Existing clinical prior authorizations for pharmacy drugs with an original expiration date between March 23, 2020 and May 30, 2020 have been extended 60 days from the original expiration date to reduce provider and member burden. Restrictions may apply.
• Early refill restrictions are lifted through June 30, 2020. Restrictions may apply.
