Effective January 1, 2023, all existing and new BlueRI for Duals (D-SNP) members received new ID cards which will no longer display the plan’s copays or coinsurance.

Beginning on January 1, 2023 D-SNP members now have a 20% coinsurance on some services such as PCP visits (excluding annual physical), dental, X-rays, Part B medications and Part B DME supplies. Any D-SNP copay or coinsurance should be billed to and covered in full by Medicaid. If you are not an approved Medicaid provider and are unable to submit your claim from BCBSRI to Medicaid, you will not be allowed to bill the member for the copay/coinsurance. If after you submit the claim to Medicaid, and Medicaid does not pick up the allowance because BCBSRI paid more than their allowance, you will not be allowed to bill the member.
