Which Internet browsers can be used to access BCBSRI.com?

What if my activation code is lost, has expired, or never arrives?

Log into BCBSRI.com using your User Name and Password. Access one of the following pages on BCBSRI.com: Benefits Coverage & Copays, Dental Benefits, Medical & Prescription Claim History, Secure Messaging, Change Address, Request Member ID Card, Change PCP, and Other Insurance Update. Click on the "Resend" link within the Enter Activation Code page. You will receive an e-mail from BCBSRI.com with a link to retrieve your activation code. Please contact Customer Service if you are unable to retrieve your activation code successfully.

Why does the Web site say that my password is incorrect?

If you have entered a user name and password combination that does not match our records, you will receive a message indicating that your password is incorrect. Please make sure that the caps lock is not on, and try signing in again.

What if I forgot my user name?

If you forget your user name, we can e-mail it you. Please click the Forgot User Name link on the sign-in page, and follow the steps to verify your identity. 

What if I forgot my password?

If you forget your password, please click the Forgot Password link on the sign-in page. Follow the steps to verify your identity, and we will e-mail a new, temporary password to you. The next time you sign in, enter your user name and temporary password. To protect your privacy, you will be prompted to select a new password.

What if my account has been locked?

For security reasons, accounts are locked after five unsuccessful sign-in attempts. Please contact Customer Service, and a representative will unlock your account.

For what purpose is a security question used?

In the event that you forget your user name or password, you will be asked to provide the answer to your security question. By providing the correct answer, along with some additional information, you'll be able to retrieve your user name or password via e-mail.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, visit Update Web Account and select "Change Password." You will be asked to select a new password and then re-enter it for verification. Once the new password is submitted, it will immediately be updated in our system.

How do I change my user name?

User names cannot be changed.

Why do you need my e-mail address?

By providing BCBSRI.com with your e-mail address, you allow us to quickly and conveniently communicate with you regarding your Web account. A valid e-mail address is required to retrieve a forgotten password or user name and to receive e-mail alerts whenever a message is received in your Secure Messaging inbox. How do I change my e-mail address?

To change your e-mail address, visit Update Web Account. Simply replace your current e-mail address with your new e-mail address. Then re-enter it for verification. Once the new e-mail address has been submitted, it will immediately be updated in our system.

Why did I receive a warning message about encryption?

To ensure the security of your information, BCBSRI.com uses 128-bit encryption, the highest online security available. If your browser does not support 128-bit encryption, you will need to upgrade to a newer version to use our Web site. We recommend using Internet Explorer 5.5 or above.

What is Secure Messaging?

Secure Messaging is a tool that allows you to communicate online with our Customer Service representatives, and if applicable, Case Managers or Providers, in a private, secure environment. Unlike e-mail, the messages you send never leave the BCBSRI system and can be accessed by only the intended recipients.

How can I delete my BCBSRI.com account?

If you no longer wish to have a Web account on BCBSRI.com, visit Update Web Account and select "Disable Web Account," and then follow the onscreen instructions. If you wish to re-enable your Web account at any time, please call Customer Service.
