Protect yourself and your family by getting vaccinated against the flu—at no extra cost! A seasonal flu vaccination is recommended for everyone over the age of six months. If you are a BCBSRI member*, you can now get a flu shot or nasal spray vaccination with no out-pocket-expenses in one of three ways:

1. Stop by a participating pharmacy. If you receive a flu shot at a participating pharmacy, you don’t have to pay anything out of pocket. Most Rhode Island pharmacies are participating—find one now. Please note that this benefit is not available at out-of-state pharmacies.

2. Visit your doctor. If you’re going to your doctor simply to get a flu shot, you’ll pay nothing out of pocket. However, if other services, such as an office visit, occur on the same date, applicable copayments, deductibles, and/or coinsurances will apply.

3. Go to a flu vaccination clinic. If you attend a flu clinic, simply give them your health plan ID number and get vaccinated.

We are also offering free flu shot clinics for Rhode Islanders who don’t have health insurance, or whose insurance does not cover flu vaccinations.

*This benefit is not available to Plan 65 members or members who only have dental coverage from BCBSRI.
