Ms. Mumford recently retired from the Rhode Island House of Representatives after 10 years of service, which included membership on the House Finance Committee and its Health and Human Services Subcommittee. Prior to that, Ms. Mumford spent more than 30 years as an educator, which included positions as an English teacher in the Barrington school system, Chair of the English Department at Scituate High School, and Adjunct Professor at Rhode Island College. Among her current associations, Ms. Mumford is Rhode Island Republican National Committeewoman and a member of the Rhode Island Commission on Women. Ms. Mumford was elected to the Blue Cross Board of Directors in March 2009. She is an appointee of the Governor.
